Moving to somerset

After months of persuasion from my mum and stepdad we finally took the plunge and relocated over 200 miles away from where we have lived, for me, all of my life, for my OH, the past 6 years.

My mum her and her OH had relocated around 4/5 years ago for work related reasons and had sworn that it was the best move they had made, that it was so much nicer in general than where we had all used to live and that the people were even nicer down this way!
I would say for a good year prior to us actually moving she had tried her hardest to convince us it would be the best move for us, not to mention how great it would be to have us and her grandchildren closer. So when we finally made a firm decision to move, as you can imagine, she was over the moon! so were we!
Our youngest son was around 13 weeks old when he came on his first road trip down to somerset with us so that we could view some houses.

I had spent several months searching for properties and contacting numerous estate agents to see what they could offer. When it came down the 4 day weekend that we had planned to stay for we only had 3 houses to view. 1 we were too late for the viewing as we got lost on route and the remaining 2 we viewed, loved both, but made a firm choice on one and so went for it.
Easter 2017
Forms were filled in and sent off, we then found a 4th house that we thought we would go and view (we took a slight detour on our journey home, so very last minute) as a back up just in case anything went wrong with our initial choice, however we fell in love with it and decided to go for that one instead. From then on everything seemed to move along pretty quickly, we packed, freaked out a little, packed some more and before we knew it we were in our new home and had officially moved to the West country!

As you will have known from reading my previous posts, our eldest son has just started school in his reception class. We were recommended this particular school from someone we got to know when very shortly after moving down here and it has not disappointed. Prior to starting school the nursery he went to was also brilliant, so much so that we have started our youngest son in the baby room just several weeks ago. I was extremely nervous for him but he seems to love it and the staff are always so kind and helpful (especially when i turn up in the mornings, right at busy drop off time, and insist that i go through listing every item in baby D's bag, how hes doing, what he may need and of course to ask them to give him plenty of cuddles through the day if he's not feeling himself)

6 months in and I cannot express enough how happy we are with our decision to move, it really has been the best decision and we absolutely love our new home, new neighbors and new life here in Somerset. My OH has found himself in a comfortable job while i stay at home with our boys, taking care of them and juggling, more recently, college, as a mature student!
