DIY cake smash shoot continued

I have to apologise again that this post is not mental health related in any way however i really wanted to share with you how my sons DIY cake smash turned out and hopefully it will make for a happy little read. 

So the day began with me waking up late! My OH was set on taking us all out for breakfast to start the day off nicely celebrating our son turning 1 soon. 
We made it out of the house, we got to breakfast and headed off into Taunton town to pick up some bits and bobs, which may i add, had nothing to do with the shoot what so ever so it only delayed time even more. 
I, myself, also didn't help in that i decided to wander around Primark for half an hour searching for some hair accessories to add to my hair kit. I also purchased a scarf, a very cute scarf that i very much needed!

Anyway, we finished in town and headed off home to pick up the confetti balloons that i had only forgotten to take with me.. notice a pattern here.. 
We rushed over to where we were getting the balloons inflated and they all turned out just as i'd hoped! We went home again and by this point baby D is not a happy bunny, he's been stuck in the car the majority of the day and desperately needs a nap but we have to go back out again so he had no choice poor thing but to fall asleep in the car. 
Picked up supplies, more props, the actual cake for the shoot and headed off back home again.

Finally i was able to focus on setting up while baby D went down for a nap. We ran around 2 hours behind the scheduled time that i wanted to start the shoot but we couldn't have a miserable and tired baby that  would not have made for a fun time for anyone. 
I cant express how smoothly it all went when it was finally in full swing and baby D was in action. He didn't quite understand why he had a cake almost the size of his person in front of him and i don't even think he knew that he was allowed to delve in and eat as much  as he wanted! 


    


Baby D was a natural, although we didn't get a smile from him he sat there looking as gorgeous as ever and that was just perfect!

I decided to start this blog in hope that someone who may share the same anxieties/OCD and anything similar, to me, will find it helpful.    I'm not entirely sure where to start however a little bit about me seems like a good place. I am a 25 year old mum to two boys, my eldest is 4.5 years old and my youngest is 10 months.  I also have a very supportive (and patient) fiance and we have been together for 6 years now. Lets talk strength

I wanted to do a post discussing in some round about kind of way on how i have realised that i had the strength to make it through my darkest time, just prior to being diagnosed with OCD.  I found myself thinking today randomly back to one morning at the very beginning of this illness. I refer to it as an illness because of everything i suffered and am still slightly suffering with. It is an illness in that it consumes you, it can make you feel extremely unwell, you don't feel yourself, you may over eat or not eat at all, in my case i couldn't bare to eat and that made me unwell in myself. It can rob you of your happiness, your sleep, your confidence and the worst part is that it creeps up on you and steals a place in your mind. Anyway, as i said, i found myself thinking back to one morning at the very beginning of this illness. My journey on how it lead to me being diagnosed with OCD

This post was written around August 2017 and although i wanted to post it back then, i just didn't feel comfortable to do so.  I couldn't even proof read it back because it made me feel so uneasy, it was still too fresh in my mind and i have mentioned a few times, if you've read my previous posts, that this was the post that made me feel so awful reading it back that i never felt strong enough to post it. I really hope that as a result of opening up and sharing my situation, it may comfort you or someone else going through something similar.  So i have recently been diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder as you may have known from reading my previous posts. This is the main reason why i started this blog, because id like to help anyone who is currently suffering with the same thing weather your unsure what is going on, or you've recently been diagnosed yourself or even if you've come through the other end of it and your managing it.
